As a therapist, I strive to bring warmth and wits into sessions with my patients. My role is to help people identify patterns that are causing trouble or distress. This process involves not only trying to understand the "root" of the problem, but also looking for ways in which individuals might get stuck in problematic ways of relating to others or thinking about themselves. This can be hard work, but it has the potential to be very rewarding. In my experience, people who engage in therapy often find that old patterns can change, and new choices are able to emerge in their lives. In my previous role as associate director of Boston University's Behavioral Medicine clinic, I worked with a diverse group of undergrad and graduate students. In my current practice, I work with adolescents and young adults who are struggling academically, or who are taking a leave of absence from college or grad school due to mental health concerns. I also have interests in depression, anxiety, parenting, postpartum depression/anxiety, and spiritual issues. But really, I like working with anyone striving for an examined life. I am not in-network with any insurance plans, but you may be able to use out of network benefits to help pay for the cost of therapy.

Cameron Weaver Vilain (they/them) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. They received their Masters of Social Work from Salem State University in 2024, having graduated summa cum laude from Mount Holyoke College in 2017. Cameron looks forward to meeting you at this unique moment in your healing journey! They are an intuitive and enthusiastic individual with a passion for assisting courageous individuals who have reached out for emotional support. They bring a spirit of mutuality, collaboration, warmth, and humor to their approach, and will tailor sessions to your unique needs and treatment goals. Whether it is your first time or hundredth time in a psychotherapy setting, together you will seek to co-create a safe and open space to unpack, process, heal, and grow. Although Cameron enjoys working with a variety of ages and populations, they have a particular passion for college students, emerging adults, and the LGBTQ community. Their specialties include queer and trans issues, identity exploration, anxiety disorders, depression, psychotic disorders, and adjustment to adulthood. Based on the preferences and needs of their patients, Cameron typically integrates an eclectic mix of DBT, CBT, social justice-oriented intersectional feminism, relational cultural theory, expressive arts, peer support-based principles, and trauma-informed practice into their conversations. When they are not working, Cameron enjoys foraging for wild foods in nature, riding their longboard along the bike path, and attending concerts and festivals. At home, they frequently cook meals for their friends and family, do arts and crafts, and their feisty cat Chessie never fails to keep them on their toes.

College (and life in general) can be a lot. Whether you're adjusting to a big transition, feeling disconnected from yourself and those around you, or trying to make sense of things that have happened in your life, you don't have to figure it out alone. I’m a therapist who works with adolescents, young adults, and caregivers, with a special focus on supporting LGBTQ+ folks. I'm part of the LGBTQ community too. I work from a trauma-informed and anti-oppression lens, which means I pay attention to the full context of your life and how the world around you has shaped your experiences. My style is warm, collaborative, and down to earth. I bring humor when it's helpful, and I don't expect you to show up any particular way. You can be messy, unsure, overwhelmed. I’ll meet you there without judgment. Everyone deserves to feel safe and heard. Therapy with me is a place to slow down, get curious, and start making sense of what’s been hard while finding your way back to yourself. I take insurance and offer a free 15-minute call to see if we're a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!

My practice focuses supporting people in clarifying their values and in living lives that realize their deepest values. I believe that there are many ways to be mentally healthy, and I pursue a pluralistic view of mental health, one which varies from person to person. I aim to be a patient and supportive companion for you to determine what is important to you and to make meaningful change. I have worked as a professor at a number of universities in the US and abroad, and I have also worked as a social worker for young adults with mental illness. My academic and psychiatric experience makes me an ideal fit for working with students (undergraduate or graduate) who are facing life transitions or mental health challenges. Therapy is an exciting journey and it is always a pleasure to meet new or potential clients. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello! I help my clients find balance through maximizing their emotional well-being while also improving their nutrition. My specialties include working in the areas of eating disorders, body image, anxiety and depression, and sports performance. It is essential to practice self-care in order to have the energy, drive, and focus required to accomplish our life goals. Attention to health is vital, but if taken to the extreme, can wear us down. Preoccupation with food or exercise can distract from experiencing the nuances of life, as well as prevent the formation of meaningful relationships. I work with my clients to help them enjoy their food experiences, but also to utilize it as medicine to enhance well-being, perform effectively in school and at work, and enhance athletic abilities. I use a non-diet approach, focusing on assisting clients develop intuitive eating skills and increase mindfulness towards food and their body. My goal is to help you set and reach realistic and sustainable goals. If this approach resonates with you, please reach out; I would love to connect.

I have been in private practice in the Boston/Cambridge area for 30 years working with adults and adolescents, couples and families. I work with clients utilizing a trauma informed lens as well as elements of liberation psychology and relational cultural theory. I feel all clinical work must begin with a thorough understanding of a client's multiple identities and how those identities interact within their communities and the larger culture. My work and my passion are embedded in a deep committment to social justice. I specialize in multicultural treatment, identity development, trauma, depression, anxiety, work issues, life transitions, parenting issues, adoption, fertility issues, gender issues and sexuality. I serve as the Director of the Brandeis Counseling Center at Brandeis University and in that role help students and faculty navigate academia. I see clients in my office at 1105 Mass Ave in Cambridge which is a 5-10 min walk from the Harvard T stop. I also offer off street parking on Remington Street across from 1105 Mass Ave. My hours are 6am-8am Mon-Fri, Thurs 5pm-10pm and Sat 7am-3pm.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and psychotherapist. One of my areas of emphasis is counseling undergraduate and graduate students who are navigating the complexities of college life and balancing the demands that often accompany this time. It is common for these years to bring discovery and connection as well as stress, pressure and anxiety. In collaboration, we can work through what is challenging or making you feel stuck or avoidant. We can address mental health concerns that may be disrupting your path. We will look at your day-to-day functioning as well as the bigger picture of your life. I will support you in taking meaningful steps towards your goals. I have extensive specialized experience treating OCD, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and BFRBs. While in training, I also completed an internship at a college counseling center where I had the wonderful opportunity to counsel students entering healthcare professions. It can be helpful for potential clients to know ahead of time that I am "in- network" with Boston University Aetna Student Health specifically. If you have this insurance, your visits are covered and you are only responsible for your copay. In all other cases, I am "out-of network." I am happy to offer a superbill invoice you can submit to your insurance for partial or full reimbursement, if you have out-of-network benefits and are eligible for reimbursement. If you aren't sure whether you do, you can call the phone number on your insurance card to ask. I am licensed in MA and CT. I am with the group practice, Soultality Center for Psychotherapy. I look forward to getting to know you!

Hate therapy? I get it. If you’d rather spend your time and money not sifting through your problems, I don’t blame you. But, if you are missing out on a sense of peace or feel like you'll burst if something doesn't change soon, then it’s worth it to invest in yourself through therapy. I'm committed to not pathologizing people (you are not broken), but some of the concerns I work with the most are: men’s issues (i.e. intimacy) , life transitions (i.e. college, divorce), anxiety, substance use disorders, self esteem/empowerment. I tailor sophisticated treatment modalities to your needs and am abundantly grateful for your trust. I know what it's like to suffer and to start to see the light. You can, too. Together, we focus on measurable success through the use of evidence based models. I consistently stay abreast of new interventions to best serve you. While I adhere to a therapeutic structure, you'll find me easy going and making use of humor- no one wants to talk to a robot. While I'm committed to 'dweebing it out' with psychoeducation, formal psychotherapy pairs well with a less rigid, unpretentious environment. I strive to create that space for you. People say I'm easy to talk to & I bring this spirit to our relationship to make you feel comfortable sorting through some of those tough bits of life from the start.

As your therapist, allow me to support and empower you to overcome a multitude of life circumstances ranging from anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Language and cultural barriers should not hinder one's ability to achieve mental wellness. My experience working with diverse communities has provided me with a cultural lens that can be used to guide you through this mental wellness journey. I aim to help my clients discover their own inner peace and spread that tranquility to the world around them. I utilize talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapeutic modalities to help clients conquer mood disorders, improve relationships, cope with trauma, and addressing racial disparities affecting the BIPOC community. In our initial phone and/or email consult, I will be able to answer any questions and concerns surrounding the therapeutic modalities I incorporate into my practice, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy, and more.

The journey towards self-discovery is a valuable and worthwhile endeavor, deserving of the effort required to connect with one's authentic self. I believe in the inherent capacity for individuals to thrive and undergo meaningful personal growth. Throughout our work together we will create an environment where vulnerability is embraced, challenging conversations occur, and discomfort is acknowledged as a catalyst for growth and change, as we explore and unravel learned patterns that may no longer serve you. My therapeutic approach is characterized by flexibility, adapting to your unique needs and preferences. I highly value your feedback, ensuring that our collaboration is a dynamic and responsive process. Grounded in an intersectional understanding of trauma, neurodiversity, and systemic oppression, I aim not only to delve into your internal world but also to consider the impact of external factors on your well-being. Therapy with me involves taking the time to connect with your joys, struggles, history, and hopes, facilitating a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of yourself. Focusing on complex trauma and neurodiversity, I have a profound appreciation for the richness and complexity of people's stories. I am committed to supporting your growth and change while acknowledging and welcoming all facets of your identity. Furthermore, I am dedicated to my own ongoing learning on social justice topics and anti-racism, recognizing the importance of understanding my own identities (both privileged and marginalized) to create an inclusive and empathic therapeutic environment. I believe that my work as a therapist is not just about individual growth but empowering my clients to recognize and dismantle the damaging and broken systems in their lives. As the therapeutic relationship is central to our work and not every therapist is going to be the best fit for you, I encourage you to take advantage of my 15 minute free consultation. This way we can discuss what you are looking for from therapy and I can answer any questions you might have about starting therapy with me. I look forward to hearing from you!

I provide therapy to adolescents and young adults. We can work together to address the stressors in your life and improve your overall wellbeing. Whether you want to address symptoms of depression or anxiety, work on self-esteem, relationship stress, family issues, improve performance in sport, or would benefit from support during a life transition, I want to provide you with a supportive space. My approach to therapy is collaborative and flexible. I most often utilize cognitive behavioral tools and a strength-based approach in my work. I try to provide a warm and engaging environment that will meet you where you are, while also knowing that sometimes we all need to be challenged in order to grow. It can be hard and intimidating to take the next step in your mental health journey, but you deserve to feel better and I would like to see if I can help you do that. Let's connect to see if we would be a good match.
