Have you been having a harder time lately? Are you experiencing a new life transition, like moving to New York and you’re not as happy as you had hoped? Or possibly you are looking to make a change in your relationships, study habits or daily routine but you’re feeling stuck and unmotivated. Regardless of the specific challenge that has brought you to start therapy, you do not have to go through this experience alone. Therapy can help you accomplish your goals in an environment that is safe and non-judgmental. You will strengthen the skills that you already have and learn new ways of thinking and coping to help you move forward. Therapy may also help you consider past and present relationship patterns to help you increase insight and create meaningful connections. I specialize in working with college aged students. I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at NYU's Counseling and Wellness Services and worked as an adjunct faculty member at Queens College and Molloy College. My style is integrative, which means that I tailor treatment to specifically meet my client's goals through various modalities such as cognitive behavioral (CBT), psychodynamic and mindfulness. I use treatment that is evidence-based and effective. I am collaborative, goal-directed, and open.
As a licensed therapist, I am dedicated to empowering adults and families of all backgrounds and cultures in navigating life challenges. These include anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, grief and loss, emotional struggles, trauma and PTSD, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and I believe healing happens when we feel seen, supported, and safe to explore growth and emotions in our own time. To achieve this, I take a strength-based, compassionate, and practical approach, allowing me to equip you with effective tools and skills to realize lasting mental wellness. Working together, you can expect an encouraging and nonjudgemental environment that uses evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP). My goal is to help you develop healthy coping skills, deepen self-awareness, and create meaningful change through compassionate and collaborative care that is tailored to your unique goals and pace. I believe in the power of connection, collaboration, and evidence-based therapy, equipping me to be an effective and inspiring therapist. I look forward to walking alongside you as you build insight, resilience, and confidence in your journey to healing and achieving your goals. Having spent four years in the social work field, I saw first-hand how trauma impacts individuals and families, as well as how healing transforms lives. This diverse experience fueled my desire to become a therapist by deepening my passion to provide effective, empowering therapy that addresses the root causes of mental health struggles. I believe every person is capable of healing, which is why I bring empathy, curiosity, and genuine belief in each person’s potential to every session. When I'm not in the office, I’m most often spending time with friends or family. And when I’m not with loved ones, I enjoy being active – playing the piano, cooking, or discovering hidden gems in NYC!
My client may be a person who currently feels stuck in their life, or dealing with chronic health issues, issues related to school, coming out, or dealing with depression and anxiety. They are seeking to feel better emotionally, function better in their lives, and connect to others in a more meaningful way. I honor the uniqueness of my patients and celebrate the qualities which make them particularly remarkable. I work with patients to achieve more satisfaction from their lives and choices, and provide them with support and practical feedback to assist in helping them resolve current problems and long-standing maladaptive patterns. My focus is to work collaboratively with my patients to help get them to their ideal level of functioning, and foster growth and personal development in a supportive and judgement-free environment. We can develop skills to deal more effectively with overwhelming feelings, identify your strengths, and work together to overcome challenges in your life. I look forward to speaking with you, and discussing how we can work interactively so that you can better navigate your way forward, and get to a more fulfilling level of functioning.
Life’s challenges can at times feel overwhelming, especially when anxiety, emotional pain, relationship difficulties, or uncertainty begin to shape how we relate to ourselves and others. In these moments, it can become difficult to feel grounded, connected, or aligned with the life we want to live. Therapy offers an opportunity to better understand these experiences and develop new ways of responding to them with greater awareness, flexibility, and intention. I provide therapy for adults, older adolescents, and couples navigating interpersonal, emotional, and psychological challenges. My approach integrates process-based and behavioral science principles, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help individuals develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I believe therapy should be collaborative, personalized, and responsive to the unique complexities of each person's life. I combine evidence-based care with a thoughtful and compassionate approach tailored to your individual goals and values. If you are seeking support or guidance to better understand your experiences, I welcome the opportunity to connect.
Does your mind feel like it’s constantly running, overthinking every decision, replaying conversations, or trying to keep up with the pressure to do well in school, relationships, and everything else? College can bring a lot of stress. Many students I work with feel anxious, stuck in their own heads, or overwhelmed by perfectionism and procrastination. You might be juggling coursework, friendships, family expectations, or questions about your future—and it can feel like too much on your own. I’m Ahuva, a licensed therapist who helps college students manage anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, relationship stress, and major life changes. Together, we’ll use practical tools to help you understand what’s getting in your way, build healthier coping skills, and feel more grounded and in control. My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. You don’t need to show up with the “right” words or have everything figured out. This is a space where you can be honest, slow down, and work through what’s really going on, without judgment. Reaching out for support can feel scary, but you don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. I’m here to help you take that first step and support you as you build confidence, clarity, and a healthier path forward.

As a therapist, I believe that you have the capacity to find your way back to yourself. With a long background in the field of dance and training in somatic therapies, I see the body as a powerful window to our feelings and the place where healing really happens. I also know the body can be the site of a lot of wounds, judgements, and shame, making it hard to access. I’m here to help you hold the painful parts so that your natural ability to heal can emerge. Using a combination of somatic, psychodynamic and behavioral approaches I will help you build the self-awareness and compassion needed to feel more at home in yourself.

I take a holistic, collaborative, and individualized approach to care to help you build insight, emotional awareness, and growth for meaningful, lasting change. We achieve this together in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment tailored to your unique personality, presenting problems, and needs. Your customized treatment plan may include psychodynamic and person-centered therapies, integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relational therapy to guide you in reaching your goals. My passion for therapy grew from wanting to be a safe space for people going through difficult periods and feeling like they have no one they can talk to. As someone who lacked this outlet as a teenager, I understood the value of providing unconditional, compassionate care. In my practice now, I remain committed to bringing a humanizing perspective to the therapeutic relationship, grounded in the belief that we all share similar emotions and life experiences, in order to ensure patients feel seen, understood, and supported in every session. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active through sports like soccer, tennis, wake surfing, skiing (downhill and cross-country), running marathons, yoga, and other workouts; as well as by hiking, taking long walks, and being near the beach or mountains. I also enjoy reading self-help books, watching psychological thrillers and rom-coms, listening to music, cooking healthy meals, and spending meaningful time with friends — staying present and unplugged from phones whenever possible.
I have personal and professional experience with acculturation and specialize in providing cross-cultural therapy for biracial/bi-cultural issues. Additionally, I am an AASECT-certified sex therapist. I integrate specialized approaches in my work with folks who identify as Muslim, Arab, Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian. I provide a non-judgmental and safe space for LGBTQ, kink, and poly persons of color in my practice. I work with adults struggling with anxiety, sexual disorders, chronic medical conditions, bereavement, trauma, and relationships. In my practice, I will work with you in a safe space to explore and address the difficulties the prevent you from living a fulfilling life.
