When you are in psychological distress and someone really hears you without passing judgement, without trying to take responsibility, without trying to mold you, the impact can be profound. I strive to be authentic, accepting, and empathetic in the therapeutic relationship to provide a safe space that allows for you to be truly heard. My ideal client is one who is open to doing the difficult work. Yes, if we do the work then life becomes an opportunity to love, and live.

Looking through endless therapist profiles can be exhausting when you're already struggling. Let me make this simple: I don't sugarcoat things. I'm here to actively work with you, not just listen and nod like a sounding board. Working together, we can actually change what's not working by developing practical skills that are effective and easy to use. I work well with all kinds of people, and I especially click with gamers, students, and musicians - shared interests tend to lead to a better therapeutic connection. You're stuck, but not broken. I help with anxiety, depression, and substance use with practical approaches: harm reduction perspectives, CBT/DBT techniques, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Whether you're dealing with social anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, burnout, or school stress, we'll build tools that will work specifically for you. Even though whatever hurdle you are trying to overcome may seem impossible, part of you knows something needs to change. Whether it's anxiety, substance use, depression, or feeling stuck - taking the first step is hard, but necessary. I offer free consultations to see if we're a good fit. She obtained her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis and completed her clinical training at both Butler University Counseling & Consultation Services and IU Methodist Hospital's Addition Treatment & Recovery Center. Amanda has worked with a diverse range of individuals in terms of socioeconomic status, age, ethnicity, gender, and presenting concerns. She has a solid understanding of the challenges faced by adolescents and adults and is passionate about assisting individuals in improving their mental health, enhancing their life experiences, and empowering them to be a part of their own growth. She is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and accepting therapeutic environment and prioritizes the development of a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship to allow each individual to gain insight and develop skills to assist them in addressing their presenting concerns. ***All therapy services are currently being provided virtually via a secure online platform (Telemental Health)*** For individuals who have difficulties finding time in their busy schedule, the convenience and flexibility of online therapy makes this a great option. Because you are able to have sessions in a private area of your choosing and will not need to commute to and from sessions, you can be more efficient with your time. Whether you decide to sit at a park, in your bedroom, or in a private space on campus such as a library study room, it's up to you. Wherever you choose to be during your sessions, know that you will receive the same professional support and assistance through online therapy as you would for in-person services.

Integrated Psychological Center of Indiana
The therapists at IPCI have a passion for working with clients to help them both cope better in the present as well as to explore, and work through, the underlying factors that fuel and perpetuate recurring problems like anxiety, depression, and relationship troubles. Many of our therapists have additional training in trauma work, including EMDR. Dr. Hanzlik is one of the few AASECT-Certified Sex Therapists in Indiana, and has trained other IPCI therapists to provide effective treatment and a specialization in helping patients work through sexual concerns. We also provide psychological evaluation to clarify diagnoses and provide recommendations for accommodations in academic settings.

I encourage my clients to get cozy with a coffee, tea, favorite blanket, hoodie, and animal in lap if applicable. The online process is very convenient and easy to do. We are all swimming in this pool of life and suffering is inevitable, my job is to help you navigate it in a way that you feel supports your best self. Therapy is only as good as your relationship with your therapist, so if you feel like you resonate with me, send me an email.

Hello, and thank you for looking at my profile. After working at Butler University's counseling center for the past 13 years, I recently transitioned to full time private practice. I love working with college students and hope to continue working with them in my new practice. I have a lot of experience with stress, anxiety, body image, substance abuse, depression, relationship problems, grief/loss, and the changing identities and developments that take place during the college years. I offer both in person and teletherapy and I am typically able to be flexible with scheduling. I'd love a chance to meet you to see if we would be a good fit!

Everyone deserves a safe place to explore their thoughts and feelings. I believe clients are the experts in themselves and I provide a safe space to explore thoughts and feelings without judgment. One request I may ask of clients when we work together is that labels like “right” or “wrong” are strongly discouraged in sessions. Letting go of those labels in session is an important part of creating that safe space. The most common struggles of the people I work with include Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, struggles with assertiveness, gray-area substance use, and anger outbursts. The other mindfulness practices can help with managing anxiety, impulsivity, and intrusive thoughts. As your recovery evolves in stages, your treatment will too. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have been practicing since 2018. My specialties include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and narrative therapy, as well as other mindfulness practices.

Whenever you may feel overwhelmed by life, making a decision to participate in emotional therapy sessions can be beneficial. These skills and experiences can help in building your own wisdom in life to better live in ways that fit what you value and what is important to you

Mental health is vital to our overall well-being. Sometimes having someone to talk to can make all the difference in our ability to cope. It's important to find a therapist that you feel comfortable with and who will help you feel safe in a nonjudgmental environment. Have you ever had difficulty processing a traumatic experience? Sometimes talk therapy alone is not enough, but brainspotting is an effective treatment that can help. Brainspotting uses your eyes to locate the part of your brain where a traumatic experience is stored and reprocess it. I am a Level Two Brainspotting trained therapist. In today's world, it can be difficult to create time to stop and figure out why we are becoming stuck. I will encourage you to pause and use your own inner resources to find a path forward.
Free Your Mind Counseling, Inc.
I am a solution focused therapist with 6 years of experience working with individuals and families to help them reach their goals. I get to know my clients and incorporate meaningful activities into our therapeutic sessions to help them work through the issues that are causing them disruption in their lives. I know that life can be difficult due to many different issues. Whatever the issue is, I am happy to work with clients to help them figure out how to overcome it. My primary objective is to help clients remove barriers to personal success and take steps toward autonomy through the promotion of mental health. I am able to provide this service in both English and Spanish. In addition to being a bilingual mental health therapist, I am a seasoned educator with 13 years of classroom teaching experience. Over the years, I have gained beneficial experience that has helped form my counseling philosophy that we all have room to grow. Lao Tzu said it best when he coined the phrase, "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." We are all on a journey in this life and start at different places along the path. It doesn't matter where any one of us starts, it just matters that we take that first step and keep on going.
