Research shows that it is the relationship between the client and the therapist that is the most important factor for success. I work to build a collaborative relationship that is rich, trusting, and productive. I look to encourage curiosity toward our experiences, where thoughts and patterns can be put into words. My work with people often centers around feelings of anxiety, dissatisfaction with important relationships or career, confusing ways of behaving, and a lack of clarity about why we feel the way we do. Often there is the sense that previous ways of being and thinking in the world may not be working as well as they used to. I believe Psychotherapy is an art and a science. Thinking together, we often find a better understanding of ourselves and our behavior, with a new sense of freedom and flexibility toward life that can be more strategic and less reactive, showing us a way of being and relating to others that is more creative, effective, and ultimately more fulfilling.

Madeline Franke
Hi, I'm Madeline! At the heart of my work is a deep belief in the power of authentic, meaningful human connection. From a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, I strive to meet each client exactly where they are, with empathy, gentle care, and acceptance. As a fellow creative, I love incorporating play, art, and expressive tools into the therapy process. With specialized training in play therapy and expressive arts approaches, enjoy using creative, personalized interventions to empower clients as they express themselves, explore and gain insight into emotions and experiences, and build on their unique strengths. I believe therapy should be a safe, developmentally appropriate space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I also value collaboration, partnering with families to offer helpful resources and build a strong support system rooted in trust that nurtures growth and healing. Before joining the team at Early Connections, I worked with children, teens, and young adults in a community mental health setting, offering individual and family counseling to those navigating anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, suicidal ideation, childhood trauma, school challenges, and adjustment. I’ve also supported undergraduate college students through social, emotional, and academic challenges in a university setting. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a research assistant, focusing on suicide prevention in vulnerable populations. These valuable experiences have all shaped my heart for this work. I’m especially passionate about supporting others through anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, trauma, grief and loss, and issues related to emotional regulation, identity, and self-worth. I earned my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Georgia, where I also studied Human Services and Human Development and Family Science. I received my Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. I am an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), working towards full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and pursuing my Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. I’m also an active member of the American Counseling Association and Association for Play Therapy. As an Associate Professional Counselor, I will be working under the supervision of Lauren Brown, LPC, NCC, RPT-S, the owner of Early Connections Child and Family Counseling. Outside of the counseling space, I’m someone who recharges through creativity and connection. I enjoy a good art project, playing guitar, reading, exploring new coffee shops, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I’m so glad that you are here. I’d be honored to connect with you and walk alongside you on your journey!

Most people pursuing therapeutic services are managing symptoms including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and dealing with major life transitions; which all may be contributing symptoms to struggles that go deeper than the surface. These deeper challenges do not scare me, nor are they something that should scare you. Our bodies simply respond to experiences, and investigating these experiences through a compassionate lens is my goal with you in therapy. I strive to provide a safe and accepting environment in which all persons can explore their specific concerns in a confidential setting. My practice philosophy emphasizes non-judgemental methods that include IFS, TF-CBT, DBT, and relational approaches. I specialize in trauma recovery, religious trauma, gender identity exploration, purity culture, and asexuality. I also have experience with eating disorders, suicidal ideation, and autism. My clientele focus is primarily with adolescents and young adults of all genders. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and enthusiastically celebrate your personal path to discovering who your most authentic self truly is!

Shane Blasko Psychotherapy, LLC
Hello; My name is Shane Blasko. I am a Licensed Psychologist. The style of therapy that I utilize is compassion-based interpersonal therapy, which is based on the idea that the relationship between a person and their therapist is extremely important. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy; it is an important relationship through which we can heal from past traumas, work through life transitions, learn to communicate more effectively, and learn to manage disruptive symptoms through learning more effective ways of coping, and understanding why we cope the way we do. I believe that it is important for therapists to try to understand the different contexts that each client is coming from; this means that I am dedicated to learning more about how each client experiences the world, and makes sense of it. I believe that each individual is unique, and that part of the job of the therapist is to try to understand how the client makes meaning of their experiences, and to assist the client with their goals.

My ideal client is motivated for therapy, enthusiastic about the process and receptive to feedback. I enjoy working with young adult African-American females going through transitional phases within their life. Maybe she is finding her place in the world, experiencing challenges that may be unexplained, dealing with emotional/physical abuse by a loved one or caregiver, wanting to get in touch with who she is or finding ways to cope with the difficulties of discrimination and systematic racism. Teenagers who are seeking to find their identity, experiencing bullying in school or difficult family dynamics are also a target population I am passionate about. I have the skills to work with young black youth and black families. I understand how the impacts of the justice system, systematic racism and psychological generational trauma effects black individuals and the black culture. know what it means to be a Black female in America and the challenges it presents as a minority. I view therapy as a mutual effort relationship. In order to grow one, must be willingly to take the risk of identifying their strengths and weaknesses and putting in the work. I believe in having active listening skills, validating my client’s feelings and being direct and honest about subjects that can be difficult to process. We all have experiences, feelings and behaviors that cannot always be explained. However, it is what we overcome that makes us resilient. I use many therapeutic modalities which includes, a holistic approach. My target populations are young women/men of minority ethnic groups or identify with the LGBTQ community. I believe that people are unique and exist within a complex system. Together we can collaborate to establish goals for therapy to fit your needs. I commend you for being brave in taking the first step towards a life change, now it's time to walk the journey.
