Alison Dagger
As a licensed music therapist and professional counselor, Alison utilizes music-centered and expressive modalities to help clients deepen their relationship to themselves, heal old patterns of shame and blame, and develop a greater sense of empowerment and authenticity. Her approach is rooted in the belief that every person is a creative being and has the capacity to connect with themselves on a deep level through art, music, imagination, and movement.
She takes a holistic approach that integrates somatics, inner childwork, and parts exploration to help clients deepen insight, build resilience, and offer a pathway to healing. This inner work helps build resources, confidence, and the wisdom needed to move through the world feeling secure within themselves and their connections.
Alison received her masters from Lesley University where she studied music therapy and clinical mental health counseling. In the 6+ years since, she has worked in a variety of settings supporting adults and young adults of all backgrounds coping with symptoms of PTSD, C-PTSD, anxiety, and depression. She is especially skilled at helping those struggling with past experiences of neglect, rejection, and other more explicit forms of abuse. Right fit clients are those who have been the peacekeepers of their family system. The ones who learned it was safer to be agreeable than express the truth about their thoughts and feelings.
