Thanks for taking a moment to learn a bit more about me. If you're seeking therapy, I applaud you! Seeking support to navigate chaotic moments in life is not often easy and is also a wonderful gift to give your self.
Therapy has been an instrumental support throughout my life since I was a teenager. Through my journey I've found healing and medicine in talk therapy, yoga, herbalism, intuitive readings, nature immersion and countless writings by Black feminist authors (Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Audre Lorde, Hortense Spillers). Therapy has always been a foundation for me to bring both my wins and my struggles, knowing I'll receive attunement and care.
As a therapist, I use co-regulating touch, Somatic Experiencing and EMDR as my main therapeutic modalities to support you in a “body first” approach to healing.
With these modalities I am suited to support folks in resolving / working through instances of shock trauma (usually refers to a single incident even that was shocking such as car accident, being assaulted, beaten or robbed but can also encompass witnessing genocide, living through a major war, or even sudden loss of a loved one).
My areas of interest and training include Interpersonal Neurobiology, Hakomi, Liberation Psychology, Africana Psychology, Indigenous Psychology, Attachment Focus, Black Feminism.
My style is dynamic, collaborative, and validating. We may integrate art, movement, play therapy, and expressive sand tray work into sessions depending on your comfort.
These frameworks and my past life experiences provide a lens through which I’ve learned how to offer compassionate, non-judgemental co-resonance. Building our relationship on a basis of shared respect is a huge part of my practice. If you think we’d be a good fit, let's connect!
