Dr. Lisa Kantor is a Clinical Psychologist who has been in practice for 30 years. She works with clients remotely through video and phone, and also has a physical office in Newton Centre, MA. She specializes in helping her clients navigate difficult life transitions and challenging life events. Based in the greater Boston area, she works with many college students facing the stressors of college life.
Integrating insight-oriented therapy and coaching, as well as mindfulness approaches, she works with a range of concerns, including: Interpersonal conflicts, family relationships, academic stress, social concerns, general worry and anxiety, self-doubt, grief and sadness, self-criticism and perfectionism.
During this most recent COVID-19 public health crisis, she is actively working with many college students who have found themselves living with their parents again or who have otherwise been displaced from their college living experience. This stressful situation presents a unique set of unexpected and unwelcome challenges to manage, including: isolation, loss of connection with friends, loss of independence, relocation, and sometimes the reemergence of conflicts in family relationships. In this situation, it is critical to sort out how to create a “new normal” that, as best as possible, honors the important developmental steps that have already been made by the time students have left home and started their adult lives.
I can provide you with paperwork for reimbursement from your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network sessions.
